This is a concept that I have heard many stories about over recent months and I just love the concept. There have been stories of people going to pay for their meal in a restaurant and finding the person before them has already paid for it and told them to pass it onto someone else in the future, or paying for the next person in lines coffee at a cafe.
But I think the best story I heard was from a blog, sorry I can’t remember who’s it was, where she passed a homeless man everyday and one day she noticed he had no shoes. So she went out and brought him some trainers as she knew he walked a lot. When she tracked him down, she gave them to him but he declined them saying to give them to someone more needy. She protested and told him that he need them as much as anyone and he replied saying he would prefer some old shoes. So she went off to get him some more, but couldn’t find any so she brought another pair of new shoes and made them look old!!! He accepted these and she still see’s him in them everyday.
I have shortened the story but the general message is there and I thought how sweet it was that even a homeless man wanted to pay forward generosity to others.
So I am making a promise that each month, I will do something to Pay It Forward. I will not document it as I think this should be down without recognition but I loved the story above and hope that through sharing it you may pass something forward too!
