Refreshing Orange Scrub
Here is a versatile scrub that can be used for face or body. (Not recommended for sensitive skin). This Refreshing Orange Scrub is a great pick me up, ideal for these long dark nights.
- 1/2 Orange
- 4 tablespoons of Cornmeal
Squeeze out the orange juice and pulp into a bowl and add the cornmeal. Mix up into a paste.
After washing your face or soaking in the bath, simply scrub using the mix for 2 to 3 minutes. Rinse, tone and moisturise your face or rinse and moisturise your body!
Sugar hand scrub
To keep your hands in tip top condition, you need to moisturise daily. But to make your moisturiser work more effectively, you should be exfoliating regularly to remove the dead skin cells. Here is a great quick exfoliant you can create in your own kitchen.
As with any homemade items, please do not try this if you have any allergies. Always try a small area prior to applying everywhere to ensure no allergic reaction.
½ cup sugar (brown or granula)
1/2 cup olive oil
Simply combine the sugar and oil together.
Masage into your hands, remember to also apply it to the backs of your hands too.
Rinse thoroughly and moisturise.
Tip: apply your hand cream before washing your pots and wear marigolds. Your moisturiser will penetrate deeper into your hands!
Yogurt Face Scrub
Yogurt is great for your skin as it will increase blood flow and in this recipe we also have honey which has antibacterial properties to disinfect your skin.
Yogurt Face Scrub
- 20 grams of powdered brewer’s yeast (If using tablets, grind before mixing)
- 2 teaspoons plain yogurt
- 2 teaspoons almond meal
- 1 teaspoon Manuka honey
Mix all ingredients in a bowl and use immediately. This recipe is not suitable to be stored.
Always try on a small area of skin before applying to your whole face to ensure there will be no reaction.
Not suitable for anyone with allergies.
Lavender Salt Scrub
Lavender is such a relaxing scent so why not indulge your senses whilst removing all the dead skin that the winter month’s bring with this wonderful and easy Lavender Salt Scrub.
Please test any homemade beauty products on a small area of skin first. DO NOT USE THIS IF YOU HAVE A NUT ALLERGY.
- 2 tbsp sea salt
- 1 tsp dried lavender flowers
- 2 tbsp almond oil
- 2 drops lavender essential oil
What to do
- Depending on how fine you want the scrub to be, use a pestle and mortar to grind the sea salt down.
- Grind the lavender flowers down to a rough powder in the pestle and mortar.
- Now mix all the ingredients in a bowl and use immediately.
